Tennis pro Otte reaches second round in Miami

Miami – German tennis pro Oscar Otte has survived his opening match at the Miami tournament.

The world number 74 from Cologne won 6:3, 6:4 against qualifier Mitchell Krueger from the USA in Florida on Wednesday (local time). In the second round Otte will meet the French veteran Gael Monfils.

Olympic champion Alexander Zverev from Hamburg is also already in the second round after a walk-through. Jan-Lennard Struff will play his first round match against Pedro Martinez from Spain this Thursday, Daniel Altmaier will take on qualifier J.J. Wolf from the USA. In the women’s singles, Angelique Kerber will play Japan’s Naomi Osaka in a clash of two multiple Grand Slam winners.
