Tennis pro Otte fit for US Open

Tennis pro Oscar Otte can compete at the US Open. The 29-year-old underwent an arthroscopy on his medial meniscus in July after his third-round loss at Wimbledon and is now fit again after five weeks of intensive rehabilitation

“Rehab successfully completed, ready for New York,” the Cologne native wrote on Instagram. After the cancellation of Olympic champion Alexander Zverev, who did not get fit in time after his foot injury, Otte is the best German player at the last Grand Slam tournament of the year starting on 29 August in New York.

Last year, the world number 41 reached the round of 16 and thus achieved his best result so far at one of the four most important tennis tournaments.
