The US Open is the last Grand Slam tournament of the year. In doubles, Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff form a team. The latter provided a laugh.
Is the match over or not? Coco Gauff was probably not so sure in her first-round doubles match with Jessica Pegula. In any case, the US American caused a laugh at the US Open when she thought she had won a match point at 6-2 and 4-1 against Quinn Gleason and Elizabeth Mandlik.
However, that was not the case. Her partner on court told her that it was now 5-1 and the match was not over yet. In a video circulating on Platform X (formerly Twitter), Gauff can be seen hugging Pegula.
She then clarified the situation, whereupon Gauff turned around giggling and then laughed heartily. Pegula also seemed amused. A short time later, both were officially allowed to celebrate their entry into the next round. They won 6:2 and 6:1. On Friday, the team will face Alexandra Alexandrovna Panova and Cristina Bucșa.
