Taffertshofer will miss Wiesbaden in two games

Third division club Wehen Wiesbaden will have to do without a key player for the next two league games: Emmanuel Taffertshofer was suspended for two championship games on Tuesday.

The midfielder was shown the red card by referee Lasse Koslowski in the 86th minute of Monday night’s matchday 14 game at Eintracht Braunschweig (2-1). Beforehand, the 26-year-old had rudely pulled his opponent Sebastian Müller off his feet from behind.

The DFB Sports Court therefore sentenced Taffertshofer to a ban of two championship games on Tuesday for “rough play against the opponent”. As a result, Taffersthofer will miss Wiesbaden’s upcoming games next Sunday against FSV Zwickau (1pm) as well as the guest game on 20 November at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Taffertshofer will not be available to interim coach duo Mike Krannich and Nils Döring until the last league match of the month on 27 November.

Taffertshofer only moved to Wiesbaden from second division side SV Sandhausen before this season. He immediately became a regular at SVWW and has played in 13 of the 14 league games so far. In the win in Braunschweig, he scored the Hessen’s opening goal in the first half (15th).
