The UEFA Nations League continues this week with a number of exciting fixtures before the domestic leagues return at the weekend. Tonight sees Sweden take on Turkey in League B. Turkey lost in their first match of the competition 2-1 to Russia, who was clearly still flying after their great World Cup run in summer.

Sweden also lost to Austria in a friendly match but manager Janne Anderson used the game to see how some of his fringe players would perform, so tonight’s Swedish team should look very different to the one that lost on Thursday. Group 2 of League B is arguably the most difficult one of the league and Turkey will really have their work cut out if they lose for a second time this week.
Sweden team news
After Sweden played a largely second-string team, their key players should all return back into their squad. The likes of Victor Lindelof, Sebastian Larsson and Marcus Berg will be called back into action as Sweden look to pick up their first points of the new competition. They will no doubt be full of confidence after their World Cup campaign that saw them beat Italy in the playoff qualifying stages. They also have incredibly good form when playing at home, where they remained unbeaten in the qualifying stages of the World Cup.
Turkey team news
Everton’s Cenk Tosun is set to lead the line for Turkey, as the team look to make up for missing out on the 2018 World Cup. The team that lost to Russia a few days ago will not see many changes at Friends Arena. The current team is notably short of some big-name players that can influence big matches.
Sweden v Turkey – Head to head
In the last eight meetings between the two teams, Sweden has only won once. Turkey won the previous two encounters, which were both friendly matches.
