Suspension after wrestling scandal

Just before WWE rival AEW’s Wembley mega show, newly returned top star Britt Baker is briefly suspended – after a backstage spat with MJF.

A serious fallout between two top stars of WWE rival AEW: A few weeks before the mega show All In at London’s Wembley Stadium, former women’s champion Britt Baker has been briefly suspended, according to media reports.

The background to this is said to have been a backstage dispute with fellow wrestler MJF. Baker was suspended for “a week or two” and fined, reports the Wrestling Observer.

Baker – freshly returned from a long hiatus due to serious health problems – will compete in a big match against star newcomer Mercedes Moné, formerly Sasha Banks, on August 25th

Britt Baker and MJF are said to be at odds

Fightful reports that there have been unresolved issues between MJF and Baker – partner of MJF’s ring rival and former tag team partner Adam Cole. The two were previously good friends, but fell out last year. According to Fightful, Baker is said to have expressed displeasure with MJF several times among female colleagues

On July 17, behind the scenes of the 250th edition of the TV show Dynamite, things are said to have escalated: Baker allegedly made negative comments about MJF within earshot of MJF’s girlfriend – interviewer Alicia Atout. He then confronted her and an open argument ensued.

It is not clear exactly what the disciplinary committee is accusing Baker of as grounds for suspension. Apparently the offense isn’t serious enough for AEW to shake up the big match with Moné, but big enough to give her pause for thought.
