Managing director Christoph Freund and sporting director Stephan Reiter know what they have in RB Salzburg. Both extended their contracts with Austria’s top club until the summer of 2026.
Austria’s serial champions RB Salzburg continue to rely on managing director Christoph Freund and sporting director Stephan Reiter for the long term. The management duo extended their contracts at last year’s Champions League last 16 participants until the end of June 2026.
The two Salzburgers have already been jointly responsible for the club’s successful path for five years, winning no less than four “doubles” in that time.
“Together they have managed to make Salzburg a top address for the most sought-after talents,” says FC Red Bull Salzburg CEO Harald Lürzer, “Stephan and Christoph have deep roots in Salzburg, and working for our club is a real affair of the heart for them. That’s why I’m very pleased that we were able to extend their contracts early until 2026. “

Freund, who often rides his bike to work, confirms: “As a Salzburg native, working for a club in such an environment at such a high level is enormous fun … we are not only a unit on the pitch, but also at all other levels in the club, which is an important building block for the successes of the last few years. “
