Tennis pro Jan-Lennard Struff’s winning streak at the ATP tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, has come to an end. The 32-year-old from Warstein was defeated in the quarter-finals by the fourth-seeded Italian Lorenzo Musetti 6:7 (3:7), 1:6.
The hard court tournament, which was endowed with more than half a million euros, was nevertheless a success for Struff, who had first fought his way into the main draw via the qualifying rounds and was convincing in the first two rounds. The 33rd-ranked player in the world had already won all three of his singles matches at the Davis Cup in Hamburg in mid-September.
