The 39-year-old from Baden is on the verge of a move from Vitesse Arnhem to CFC Genoa, with 1.5 million euros being discussed as a transfer fee. Spors, as managing director of sport, is expected to help keep the club in the league while at the same time rebuilding the squad. He was once in charge of scouting at Hoffenheim, and later also at RB Leipzig and Hamburger SV.
Spors moved to Arnhem in April 2020, Vitesse reached the 2021 cup final (lost to Ajax) and is fighting a long-distance duel with Tottenham for the knockout round of the Europa Conference League this Thursday. The transfer should be announced on Friday.
