Vice champion Theo Nouet is back in the ADAC GT4 Germany – Four Austrians want to present themselves from their best side at the home race
Curtain up for the second round of the ADAC GT4 Germany. The GT series will make its first foreign appearance of the 2022 season next weekend as part of the ADAC GT Masters. The venue is the 4.318-kilometre Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, the fastest track on this year’s calendar.
The second round of the ADAC GT4 Germany will be held in Austria.
There will be 29 cars from the six brands Aston Martin, BMW, KTM, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Toyota offering a spectacular speed festival. Four drivers from Austria are looking forward to their home race. The ADAC GT4 Germany races can be followed in the livestream on the high-reach platform sport.de as well as on adac.de/motorsport. The race starts at 15:35 on Saturday and at 16:30 on Sunday.
After two podium finishes at the season opener in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 duo Indy Dontje and Phil Dörr travel to Styria as championship leaders. “On the one hand, of course, this is something special – on the other hand, we’re approaching the race weekend like any other. Because it’s still too early to think about the championship,” Dörr clarifies.
“The Red Bull Ring has an outstanding significance for me, as I was able to win my first race in the ADAC GT4 Germany there in 2020. It’s not the Aston Martin’s favourite circuit, but we’re going there confidently this year. Our goal is to finish in the top 5 in both races. Due to the track layout, I think the new Porsche at the Red Bull Ring is strong. Personally, I have a lot of fun there, especially with the fast corners.”
Dörr will also have competition at the Red Bull Ring from Theo Nouet. The vice-champion and junior champion of the 2021 season is returning to the ADAC GT4 Germany and will be driving one of the two Mercedes-AMG GT4s with Julian Hanses at CV Performance Group. “I’m looking forward to competing in the ADAC GT4 Germany. I made a lot of friends in the series last year,” said Nouet.
“Although it’s not the best track for the Mercedes-AMG, we want to be in contention for the wins. My teammate Julian is a great driver, so we will definitely be up front. I am active as a driver coach at CV Performance throughout the season and help to develop the team. We want to come out strong.” Nouet will also pilot the Mercedes-AMG GT4 of the racing team from Niederzissen at the Sachsenring race weekend.
A total of four drivers from Austria will compete in the ADAC GT4 Germany at the Red Ring. Leo Pichler will be sitting in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS MR. “I’m really looking forward to the race weekend. Many friends and sponsors will visit me on site and cheer me on. The atmosphere at the Red Bull Ring is always unique. It’s just fun to race there,” explains Pichler, who is competing for W&S Motorsport together with Leon Wassertheurer.
“The season opener in Oschersleben didn’t go according to plan in terms of results. At the Red Bull Ring, however, we want to finish in the top 10. That is our big goal. “
Razoon – more than Racing is going all out in red-white-red. The racing team from Eggersdorf in Styria will be making a guest appearance at the Red Bull Ring and will be fielding the two Austrians Horst Felix Felbermayr and Daniel Drexel, who will be making their debut in the ADAC GT4 Germany. With the KTM X-Bow GT4 Evo, the team is also bringing an Austrian race car to the start. The Alpine driver quartet is completed by Nico Gruber, who shares a Mercedes-AMG GT4 with Jan Philipp Springob in the Drago Racing Team ZVO.
