The Upper Franconians had only six players available due to injuries and Corona infections – but those six sold themselves dearly in Lower Saxony. “We practically had to reinvent ourselves,” said the Austrian Korner: “In the end, we were maybe one or two centimetres short of a huge sensation. The Telekom Baskets Bonn, meanwhile, are still on course, celebrating their next success four days after their coup against Bayern Munich (96:61). Coach Tuomas Iisalo’s team won 85:73 (43:33) at Hamburg Towers. It was the third win in a row for the Rhinelanders, with Parker Jackson-Cartwright the top scorer with 22 points.
