Sinner decision will not be made until 2025

The doping case of world number one tennis player Jannik Sinner will not be heard until next year, WADA has officially announced.

The decision in the doping case of the Italian world number one Jannik Sinner will not be made until next year at the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This was officially announced by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Friday. “There will be nothing by the end of the year,” WADA Director General Olivier Niggli told the French news agency AFP.

The Sinner case came before the CAS after an appeal by WADA. The South Tyrolean, who led Italy to victory in the Davis Cup, was twice tested positive for the banned steroid clostebol. Sinner stated that the substance entered his body through contact with his physiotherapist and initially avoided punishment. Following WADA’s appeal, he is still facing a penalty of up to two years.
