The women of FC Bayern München will have to do without Sydney Lohmann for a long time. This was announced by the Bundesliga leaders on Wednesday.
“Setback for Sydney Lohmann and the FC Bayern women: The 21-year-old midfielder had to undergo an operation on her hip yesterday, Tuesday. The operation was successful. Lohmann is expected to miss head coach Jens Scheuer and the team for several months,” the Munich side announced on their club website.
Lohmann has been lacing up her football boots for FC Bayern’s women since 2016 and made a total of 62 appearances for the first team, scoring 14 goals in the process. The 21-year-old has made three appearances in the current season, in which the Munich women have won four games (goal difference of 21:0) and lead the table.
Lohmann has also played for the German national team. She has worn the DFB jersey a total of eleven times (one goal).
