Russia and Belarus excluded from FIFA Global Series

Electronic Arts announced on Wednesday evening to exclude Russian and Belarusian players as well as teams from the FIFA 22 Global Series (FGS).

The competitive FIFA 22 season is over for Russian and Belarusian professionals. Electronic Arts (EA) has excluded all players and teams from Russia and Belarus from the FGS.

With this, EA lets the next consequence of the Ukraine war follow. First, the Russian national team as well as the three Moscow clubs ZSKA, Lokomotive and Spartak were removed from FIFA 22. Subsequently, the sale of the title in Russia and Belarus was also suspended.

Russia recently already inactive

“We remain shocked by the conflict unfolding in Ukraine and join the many voices around the world calling for peace and an end to the invasion,” EA prefaces the official statement on the FGS suspension. “We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. “

The Russian eNational Team had already failed to compete in the third week of the FIFAe Nations Series play-ins. The virtual “Sbornaja” was seeded in Division 2 of the second European Conference and would have had to play Germany – the DFB team got two 3-0 wins at the green table.

Gazprom logo still on Schalke jerseys

On the road to the 2022 FIFAe World Cup, Robert ‘Ufenok77’ Fakhretdinov, who was ranked eighth in Eastern Europe’s Global Series rankings, is the most affected. In addition, of course, Russian eNations players Daniil ‘Abeldos’ Abeldiaev and Artem ‘Xali’ Khalilov, who had also featured in the eNations Series, will be excluded.

Russian and Belarusian players are also no longer eligible to participate in the Apex Legends Global Series. Meanwhile, EA has not yet taken care of the Gazprom logo on the digital jerseys of FC Schalke 04, which has not been worn in reality since the end of February.
