Rules disregarded: Blunder in Vejrgang’s line-up costs Leipzig points in the VBLCC

RBLZ Gaming suffered three heavy defeats on Wednesday. The reason for the losing points was a “big mistake” in Anders Vejrgang’s line-up

RBLZ Gaming’s start to the season has been a mess. The two-time winners of the Virtual Bundesliga Club Championship (VBLCC) currently find themselves in the bottom half of the table – despite great ambitions. Although the Leipzig team celebrated two opening victories at the start of the season, its form is currently pointing downwards. Most recently, they suffered a clear defeat against the newcomers from Elversberg.

There was no sign of an improvement on Wednesday either. After one win and one defeat, the outcome of the third game against Augsburg was still open. However, the decisive third game in the best-of-three did not even take place. Some attentive viewers of the Fuggerstädter stream recognized a breach of the rules by the Saxons

A mistake that “should never happen “

In addition to the two VBL power items, only two other items from your own club are allowed in the squad. However, RBLZ Gaming had a total of five. The 99 cards of Benjamin Sesko and Yussuf Poulsen were joined by the previously used items of Timo Werner and Lois Openda – the recently released Thunderstruck item of Lukas Klostermann was rotated into the FUT team. The referees then scored the three games in favor of Leipzig’s opponents Karlsruher SC, 1. FC Heidenheim and FC Augsburg

As RBLZ Gaming announced on X, it was “a big mistake” that “should never happen”. A mishap with serious consequences, as Leipzig slipped from seventh to twelfth place as a result – out of the play-off places. Although they are only two points behind, they are already 14 points adrift of first place in the table. Nevertheless, the reigning club champions are convinced that they will get back on track. After all, “the season is long enough to correct this mistake.”

Mainz winning streak continues

While the Saxons were the clear favorites before the start of the season, 1. FSV Mainz 05 now occupy this role in the south-east. The Rheinhessen side continued their winning streak and remain undefeated. However, Mainz were on the brink of a defeat. The Nullfünfer were brought there by SC Freiburg. The Freiburg duo of David ‘Dave’ SCF_Queck and Gianluca ‘SCF_Gianluca’ Mautone were particularly impressive in the doubles.

The decisive 2:0 was a particular highlight, as the two SCF professionals opened the scoring with a long ball and then combined seamlessly in the penalty area. There they were even able to cross the ball again – the free player casually pushed the digital ball over the line.

However, Mainz then showed why they are at the top of the table. In the person of Ditmir ‘Ditmir_4897’ Alimi, the leaders fought their way back and forced the decisive second individual goal. The team from the Rheinhessen was not effortless, but also came out on top in this one. The big showdown is coming up in 14 days. Mainz will then face FC Augsburg, currently in second place, and RBLZ Gaming. All VBLCC results and tables can be found in the matchday overview
