Hoby Darling is the new president of Riot Games. The company announced this in a statement. He is no stranger to the gaming and tech industry.
In a brief statement on Monday, Riot Games introduced its new president: Hoby Darling will take over the position from Dylan Jadeja, who was promoted to CEO in 2023. In his new role, Darling will work across all teams within the company.
“When I first walked into Riot, I felt a scrappy, emotional, and courageous energy that I knew I had to be a part of,” Darling said. ”I’ve worked with a lot of companies. There’s something special about a place that takes risks, challenges conventions, and is fully committed to its mission. Riot has a long history of creating experiences that truly matter to players.”
No stranger to the gaming industry
Even before joining Riot Games, Darling was no stranger to the gaming and tech industry. He helped build an esports division at Logitech and previously served as president and CEO of Skullcandy and Astro Gaming. Darling also worked at Nike for three years as global general manager.
Riot Games is currently working on a new fighting game: 2XKO. The alpha testing phase began a few days ago, but not in Europe. Testing is exclusively in the US, Canada, and Brazil. The creators have high expectations, as 2XKO aims to redefine the beat ’em up format.
With a focus on cooperation and innovative skills, the developers want to bring the team play from League of Legends into the ring and shake up the foundations of the game category. There is no release date yet.
