Ex-superbiker Xavi Fores will not only ride MotoE for Pramac, but will also support Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin with his experience
The Pramac team has strengthened itself with a well-known name. Xavi Fores will support riders Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin with his experience in the 2022 MotoGP season. Fores is the new “riding coach” of the Ducati satellite team.
Fores will also compete for the Pramac team in the MotoE class. Already at the beginning of February, the Italian team presented Fores as well as Kevin Manfredi as the two riders.
On Instagram, Fores writes of a “new chapter in his career”. The 36-year-old is especially happy about being able to support Zarco and Martin. In 2016, Fores contested his only Grand Prix in MotoGP.
That time he replaced the injured Loris Baz in the Avintia Ducati team for the Misano race. Due to arm pump, Fores did not see the chequered flag. In recent years, the Spaniard has mainly raced in the World Superbike Championship.
Between 2016 and 2018, Fores took six podiums with a private Ducati. 2020 was his last season in the World Superbike Championship with a customer Kawasaki. The previous year he competed in the British Superbike Championship. However, that year was marked by injuries.
In the 2022 season, Fores will also compete in the World Endurance Championship with the ERC-Endurance-Ducati team in parallel to MotoE.
