Raab fight: Wontorra gets involved

The third boxing show fight between Stefan Raab and former boxing world champion Regina Halmich will take place in a few weeks. RTL has now published further details about the event. Laura Wontorra will be there

On September 14, the already legendary boxing show fight between TV legend Stefan Raab and former boxing world champion Regina Halmich will take place for the third time. The broadcaster RTL has now announced further details.

Laura Wontorra will be reporting live from the ring in Düsseldorf’s PSD Bank Dome. The broadcaster has also announced that Dariusz Michalczewski and Firat Arslan, two former world boxing champions, will be celebrity guests.

According to RTL, around 14,000 spectators will experience a “live spectacle” and “show fireworks à la Raab” when the entertainer and Regina Halmich step into the ring once again. The event is completely sold out.

The Cologne-based broadcaster also promises a “pre-show of superlatives”: “Top national stars for the entrance, breathtaking show interludes, lots of glamor and celebrities in the boxing ring included. ”

Frank Buschmann comments on the Raab fight

It was announced a few days ago that Elton will host the event, while Frank Buschmann will commentate on the fight

While Raab continues to keep a low profile, Halmich has already commented on the fight several times. “I think it will be one of the biggest shows we’ve seen in a long time. Anyone who knows Stefan knows that he can only go big. He has a bit of megalomania, but you have to give him credit: What he does has always been the best of the best”,

Third duel between Raab and Halmich

Raab and the now 47-year-old Halmich had already dueled twice in the past, attracting a huge audience in front of the television: the first fight took place in 2001 in the then TV-Total studio, followed by a rematch in 2007 in the Kölnarena.

Halmich won both times (and also broke Raab’s nose in the first edition), but Raab impressed with the seriousness with which he approached the show event. It became the cornerstone for the numerous other sports show spectacles by and with Raab on ProSieben and also paved the way for “Schlag den Raab” and “Schlag den Star.”
