For the first time ever in MLB history, there will be two tiebreaker games played today. The teams involved in this exciting set of games are the Brewers and the Cubs (National League Central title) and the Rockies will play the Dodgers (National League West title). Even the losers will still be in with a chance to reach the World Series, as they will meet in the wildcard game.

Brewers vs Cubs form
Brewers go into the game in hot form, having won their last six matches against the Cardinals and the Tigers. Their star player Christian Yelich has been playing sensational baseball and is tipped for the NL MVP award.
The Cubs were looking like they had done enough but September has seen them struggle to score runs. Brewers’ strong finish was just too much for them.
The Rockies vs Dodgers form
After the Rockies had lost their games to the Dodgers a few weeks ago, it looked like their season would be over early. However, they put a run together to win nine of their last ten games.

Dodgers lost two of their three games against Arizona last week but then blew Giants away, including a 15-0 thrashing.
History of tiebreakers
In previous years, there have been one-game breakers, with ten over the full history of MLB but today brings the first ever two-game breakers. The last year that a tiebreaker was required was in 2013 when Rays beat Rangers.
In the last seven years, winners of a tiebreaker game have only once gone on to play in the World Series, this was the Rockies in 2007. You would have to go back as far as 1978 for a team to win a tiebreaker and then go on to win the World Series when Yankees achieved that feat in 1978.
