Felix Magath (68) will not yet take a seat on Hertha BSC’s bench this weekend. The new head coach has tested positive for the corona virus.
As the club announced on Thursday afternoon, Magath is “initially unavailable for training and matches” following his positive test. The 68-year-old is “almost symptom-free”.
This means Magath will not be on the Hertha bench for Saturday’s Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim. His Bundesliga comeback after almost ten years will be postponed by at least two weeks due to the international break. The last time he was on the sidelines was in October 2012 as Wolfsburg coach against SC Freiburg.
Magath will be replaced against Hoffenheim by co-trainer Mark Fotheringham.
