The Corona cases at TSG Hoffenheim don’t stop. Now Stefan Posch has been caught.
The 24-year-old Austrian was infected with the corona virus while playing for the national team and will therefore certainly miss the Kraichgauer’s home match against VfL Bochum on Saturday.
The Hoeneß team, which has been plagued by Corona lately, has to cope with another setback in terms of personnel, as Ihlas Bebou, Florian Grillitsch and Pavel Kaderabek, important pillars of the TSG, were absent due to COVID-19 during the 3-0 defeat at Hertha. In addition, Benjamin Hübner was only on the bench in Berlin after an infection.
90 minutes on the bench against Wales
So now Posch has caught it. The 24-year-old centre-back was on the bench for 90 minutes in Austria’s World Cup play-off semi-final against Wales last Thursday (1:2), and on Tuesday the team of resigned coach Franco Foda will play a friendly against Scotland.
Posch has played 15 international matches for the Alpine Republic (1 goal). For Hoffenheim, he has played 119 competitive games since 2017 (two goals). In the current season, he has played in 23 Bundesliga matches and in three cup matches.
