Partizan are undefeated in the Europa League so far, winning five and drawing one of their previous six matches. Rudar, Trakai and Nordsjaelland were the teams that the Serbians eliminated. Last season, they finished second in a group with Dynamo Kyiv, Young Boys and Skënderbeu and were knocked out by Plzen in the Round of 32. They’ll be looking to take it a step further this time around but first, The Black and Whites must conquer Besiktas.

Marko Jankovic Partizan

The Istanbul side stunned Champions League Group G last season, finishing first ahead of Porto, RB Leipzig and Monaco. Unfortunately, they were drawn against Bayern Munich, who smacked them 8-1 on aggregate. Besiktas’ CL ambitions took their toll as the team lost the Turkish Super Lig title to Galatasaray and ended up in fourth place. Consequently, The Black Eagles found themselves in the Europa League qualifiers. Torshavn and LASK Linz were the opponents they eliminated to set up a clash with Partizan Belgrade.

Head-to-Head

These two teams were in the same Europa League group in 2014/15. Besiktas won both encounters (4-0, 2-1) on their way to topping it ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, whereas Partizan finished last.

Players to watch:

Marko Jankovic (23) and Darko Pantic (21) are Partizan’s players to watch. No team goal goes without them having their say.

No player stands out in Besiktas, as Senol Gunes’ side is first and foremost a team. Players like Ricardo Quaresma, Adriano, Domagoj Vida, Pepe, Gokhan Gonul, Gary Medel and Ryan Babel makes experience is their driving force.
