Mesut Özil has told the players of Arsenal that he is going to Manchester United, according to several English newspapers on Friday. The 29-year-old midfielder, who has a contract in progress, is convinced that he will make a transfer to Old Trafford. Earlier this month, Arsène Wenger admitted that a winter transfer is an option, as the German international will otherwise leave next year without a transfer in summer.
Özil has now lost its base place in the Arsenal team and has lost its support among fans in recent months because of his difficulties in the contract. José Mourinho has never made a secret of it that he considers Özil to be the world’s top ten in the world. The two know each other of their period together at Real Madrid and have always been very laudatory about each other in recent years.
The management of Özil reportedly asks for a weekly salary of 390,000 euros from interested clubs. Last season, Arsenal made a proposal of 305,000 euros per week but is now making no effort to tie the German to himself any longer. There is no real interest yet, although Internazionale openly admitted that it was interested in the former player of Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen.
