Stuttgart – Tennis player Tamara Korpatsch was eliminated in the round of 16 of the WTA tournament in Stuttgart against US Open winner Emma Raducanu.
The 26-year-old from Hamburg took one set from the clearly favoured Brit, but was defeated 0:6, 6:2, 1:6. Korpatsch, ranked 118th in the world, had actually failed to qualify for the high-class clay-court tournament, but was moved into the main draw due to a cancellation.
After Korpatsch’s exit, Laura Siegemund from Swabia is the only German quarter-finalist. Six German women had been in the main draw of the 611,210 euro clay court tournament. Three-time Grand Slam tournament winner Angelique Kerber lost in the first round on Wednesday.
