Otte and Koepfer eliminated in Indian Wells

Indian Wells – Dominik Koepfer and Oscar Otte have been eliminated in the second round at the Masters in Indian Wells.

Koepfer put up a long fight against Russia’s Andrei Rublyov but lost 5-7, 4-6 on Sunday and missed out on a surprise against the world number seven in tennis. Otte forced a third set against Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, the eleventh seed, but ultimately lost 3-6, 6-3, 3-6.

The hard court tournament, which is endowed with around 8.6 million US dollars, is one of the most important events on the ATP Tour. Olympic champion Alexander Zverev is the last remaining German in the men’s field and will face Tommy Paul from the USA in his second round match in the evening (local time). Philipp Kohlschreiber, Jan-Lennard Struff and Daniel Altmaier were eliminated in the first round.
