Franz Wagner led the Orlando Magic to their tenth NBA win of the season against the Detroit Pistons. Things didn’t go so well for Dennis Schröder and Isaiah Hartenstein.
Wagner was the best scorer of the game with 24 points in the 119:103 (67:51) against Detroit on Friday night – and also won the duel of the two best rookie scorers against Cade Cunningham. Cunningham, who was drafted by the Pistons at the number one position before the season, missed his first eleven throws of the game and ended up with only eight points. Moritz Wagner added two points, rebounds and assists each off the bench for Orlando.
Schröder only comes off the bench
The Boston Celtics with Dennis Schröder lost 92-108 at the Atlanta Hawks. Schröder came off the bench and converted only one shot for two points, he also recorded three assists and rebounds each. For the Hawks, led by All-Star Trae Young, it was the sixth win in a row.
The Los Angeles Clippers with Isaiah Hartenstein conceded a 114-121 loss to the Miami Heat. Hartenstein scored eight points.
While the Heat (32-17) lead the Eastern Conference, the Phoenix Suns (39-9) are the best team in the West and the entire league. The 134-124 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves was the ninth straight for the Suns.
Triple-double for Jokic and Morant
Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets (27-21) to a 116-105 win at New Orleans (18-30) and came up trumps with a triple-double (29/13/10), something Ja Morant (30/10/10) also did for the Memphis Grizzlies (34-17) 119-109 against a continuing faltering Utah Jazz (30-20, tenth loss in their last 12 games).
