“Only” 27: Doncic’s record streak snapped in Mavs win over Bulls

Luka Doncic’s record streak is broken, but the Slovenian leads the Mavericks to another win

National player Maximilian Kleber and the Dallas Mavericks have continued their small run of success in the NBA. The Texans won 127:92 at the Chicago Bulls and celebrated their third win in a row.

Once again, superstar Luka Doncic stood out for Dallas, although the Slovenian’s record run came to an end. With 27 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds, he narrowly missed out on his seventh triple-double with 30 points in a row, leaving his historic record at six.

“He’s all about winning. I don’t know if numbers mean that much to him today. But once he stops, he’ll see that his game was on another level,” said Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd, referring to Doncic. Kleber finished with two points and one assist in 13 minutes of action and also grabbed four rebounds.

Jokic excels – Wembanyama loses in good spirits

The win keeps Dallas in eighth place in the Western Conference, but it still has every chance of finishing among the top six teams. At the end of the season, this would be enough to get them straight into the playoffs.

The champion Denver Nuggets and the Boston Celtics celebrated more or less commanding must-win victories. The Nuggets beat the Toronto Raptors 125:119 and were able to rely on the once again outstanding Nikola Jokic. The two-time MVP finished with 35 points, 17 rebounds and twelve assists.

The Celtics had no trouble in their 121:99 away win against the Portland Trail Blazers and continue to lead the league by a clear margin. In San Antonio, even a good performance by Victor Wembanyama with 27 points in the 102:112 defeat against the Golden State Warriors could not prevent the 51st defeat of the season
