Sensational news from Italy tells us Leonardo Bonucci could return to Juventus.
Leonardo Bonucci to Juventus
The 31-year-old enjoyed a less than stellar first season in AC Milan, needing a long time to adapt to a new formation. Nevertheless, he remains a wanted man. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain both showed interest in the central defender once it was announced the club will be forced to sell in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
Milan went through a change in ownership this week, which helped reinstate their place in the Europa League. The club is not expected to sell as much as before the Elliott Corp. took over the steering wheel but a few players should be on the move regardless.
According to Calcio Mercato, Bonucci would welcome a move to Turin with reports suggesting Juve could offer Gonzalo Higuain in a potential swap deal. Higuain is one of the players on AC Milan’s wish list, as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Bonucci’s representatives have also held talks with PSG over the past week, so a move to France still remains the most likely scenario.
AC Milan transfer news
Since the opening of the summer transfer window, AC Milan has signed Alen Halilovic, Ivan Strinic and Pepe Reina, all free agents. No additions have been made because of the turmoil at the top. Most of the rumours and speculations have involved Milan players leaving the club.
Manuel Locatelli was thought to be on his way to Sassuolo, but the club’s new owners are supposedly reluctant to let him leave. The same goes for Gustavo Gomez, who had arranged a transfer to Boca Juniors. Meanwhile, Nikola Kalinic is close to a move to Spain’s Atletico Madrid.
The Nerazzurri are in the market for a striker, with Alvaro Morata a long-time target. However, the Chelsea forward is very expensive and a result, Milan’s owners have seemingly turned their sights on Simone Zaza.
