This weekend sees the return of Ligue 1 football, starting off with Olympique Marseille hosting Toulouse on Friday night. Last season Marseille finished in fourth place in the Ligue 1 table, whilst Toulouse narrowly stayed in the league through a relegation play-off win against Ajaccio. Toulouse are expected to be fighting relegation again this season.

Team news
Marseille have only just welcomed back their World Cup-winning stars Steve Mandanda, Adil Rami and Florian Thauvin. They only returned to training with the club on Monday so it is unlikely that they will be going straight into the team to face Toulouse. Hiroki Sakai will be fresh to play after his national team Japan left in the earlier stages of the competition.
Toulouse’s Christopher Jullien is apparently attracting interest from Newcastle United, ahead of the English FA’s transfer deadline tomorrow, so he could be out of the team. Midfielder Ibrahim Sangare could also be making a move to the Premier League, after a bid from Brighton. Dossevi is in line to make his debut for his new team.
Head to head
Last season Marseille won both games at home and away against Toulouse. In March, Marseille beat Toulouse 2-1 in Ligue 1 and they finished 2-0 to Marseille back in September.
