Once again, the english traditional club Derby County have been deducted points.
For the second time in a season, English second division club Derby County have been punished with a drastic points deduction. The club, coached by former international Wayne Rooney , announced on Tuesday that they had accepted a nine-point deduction for breaching EFL (English Football League) rules on “viability and sustainability”.
The former champions had already been deducted twelve points in September for declaring insolvency. The appeal against this was rejected. After the deduction of a total of 21 points, Derby County now have three minus points and are at the bottom of the Championship table.
No possibility of appeal
At the end of the season, the Rooney club could even be deducted another three points if Derby County do not adhere to financial terms agreed with the EFL for the remainder of the current season. The club says it does not have the option of a further appeal.
