“Normal match operations out of the question”: Frankfurt II against Gießen canceled

Eintracht Frankfurt mourns the loss of U-19 coach Helge Rasche. Not only the regional league match of the U 21 against FC Gießen scheduled for Saturday was canceled because of this

After the fatal accident of U-19 coach Helge Rasche, Eintracht Frankfurt is in shock. “We ask all fans for their understanding that normal match operations are unthinkable in such a situation,” the club wrote on its website, announcing that all youth teams will neither play nor train on Friday and at the weekend. This also applies to the U21s, whose home match against FC Giessen in the Regionalliga Südwest scheduled for Saturday has been canceled. All parties involved have come to an amicable agreement.

The FCG announced in a statement: “Our deepest sympathies go out to the club, the family and the relatives. We wish them much strength during this difficult time. We cannot put this deep sadness into words. As a club, we stand firmly by the side of Eintracht Frankfurt and the family of the deceased.”

Regionalliga Südwest GmbH, which is responsible for match operations, has announced that it is mourning “with the family and all companions of the deceased”.

However, a make-up date has not yet been set
