No more annoying questions? EA SPORTS revises press conference in FC 25

Press conferences can be very useful in FC. They can boost morale – if it weren’t for the sometimes irrelevant questions. FC 25 should bring improvement, the sweet spot should also offer more challenge

The press conferences in EA SPORTS FC’s career mode are both a blessing and a curse. The virtual journalists often ask inappropriate questions. Nevertheless, it can be worth taking a seat on the digital podium. After all, targeted answers can not only boost the morale of certain players being asked about – but also possibly that of the entire team.

To achieve this effect, the virtual coaches in EA SPORTS FC 25 will no longer have to bite the bullet and face a little more of a challenge – the developer wants to kill two birds with one stone

More relevant questions and sweet spot for more challenge

The deep dive on career mode states that “questions from the press will now be influenced by tactical decisions, the opponent’s formation and match statistics”. In other words, the topics of the digital journalists should have more relevance. Although the adjustment is long overdue, the new FC IQ feature provides a good basis, as it promises more tactical approaches and player roles à la Football Manager

Not only more relevant questions, but also the answer options should provide more incentive to take part in the press conferences. While it was previously possible to boost a player’s morale as often as desired by answering questions, a certain point should not be exceeded in future. This is because praising a protégé too often can cause them to become complacent – with consequences: Instead of increased mental attributes, these would then be reduced.

The ideal interval for morale, when players are very happy, varies depending on the virtual pro. This new system is called the sweet spot. It is only known that the character plays a major role in this – meaning that calm and professional players are much easier to keep in this spot.
