The FC Schalke 04 will have to do without centre-back Salif Sané in the coming weeks.
The Senegalese suffered a muscular injury in his rear thigh in training on Tuesday. This was explained by Schalke coach Dimitrios Grammozis on Thursday in the press conference before the relegation duel at Werder Bremen. Grammozis estimated the downtime at “about three weeks”.
It is the next setback for the defender after he missed the first twelve matchdays of the season due to persistent knee problems. It was only in the 2:4 against Darmstadt before the international break that he made his season debut with a short appearance.
