Gavi has extended his contract with FC Barcelona. This makes him the next player to commit to the Blaugrana.
Gavi will remain at FC Barcelona until 2030. This was announced by the Catalans on Friday afternoon. The release clause, which is obligatory in Spain, is one billion euros.
The 20-year-old’s extension represents the fourth in the past two weeks, after Ronald Araujo, Gerard Martin and Pedri have already been tied to the La Liga third-placed team for the coming years.
Gavi joined the Catalans from the Real Betis youth ranks in 2015 and made the leap into the first team in 2021 at the age of 17. It was only in October that the youngster made his comeback after a cruciate ligament injury and has been fighting for his place in the midfield ever since.
