Telekom Baskets Bonn and Bamberg Baskets signed new players on Tuesday
Telekom Baskets Bonn responded to the departure of Brian Fobbs by signing Phlandrous Fleming Jr. The guard comes to the BBL from French first-division club Le Portel; the American has signed a one-year contract. Fobbs has moved to Dinamo Sassari in Italy.
“Phlandrous will play both the build-up and shooting guard position for us. He is fast, athletic, very strong defensively in particular and brings valuable experience from the strong French league,” said coach Roel Moors: “There he always defended the best player on the opposing team and we hope that he will also become a defensive leader for us.” Fleming Jr. fits “exactly into the requirements profile for the coming season: He is another defensive specialist who always gives 110 percent on the court,” says Baskets’ Sports Director Savo Milovic.
Bamberg snaps up Locke
The Bamberg Baskets have signed another US professional for the new season. Noah Locke (25) joins from Hungarian first-division club SZTE-Szedeak Szeged, as the club from Franconia announced on Tuesday. Locke was the top scorer in the league there with 23.6 points per game. “Noah showed right away in his first year in Europe and also proved that he can be a scorer. That’s also what we envision and expect from him,” said coach Anton Gavel.
Before Locke, Bamberg had already signed winger Moritz Krimmer and the Americans Ibrahim Watson-Boye, Ronaldo Segu and KeyShawn Feazell. The Baskets’ squad for the coming season now includes ten professionals
