The man from Saxony has recently worked very successfully in Uzbekistan.
Marko Spittka will be the new national judo coach for men. The German Judo Federation (DJB) announced on Friday the appointment of the 53-year-old bronze medalist from the 1996 Olympic Games.
Spittka, who is from Saxony, had most recently worked in Uzbekistan for three years and won Olympic gold in Paris with Dijora Keldijorowa. He succeeds the Brazilian Pedro Guedes.
“Marko has done a lot for the DJB and as a successful world-class athlete, he has proven in recent years that he can also work very successfully abroad,” said Michael Bazynski, head of competitive sports at the DJB.
