It is one of the most exciting days in the NBA calendar, outside of the actual fixtures. The NBA Draft takes place this Thursday and the rumours have been circulating about which picks the teams will prioritise. Deandre Ayton and Marvin Bagley will certainly be selected early on but the Phoenix Suns could surprise us all. Rumours doing the rounds include the Spurs trading Kawhi Leonard for the No. 1 of the Suns.
What the Consensus Mock Draft reveals
A Consensus Mock Draft published on the NBA website reveals that Deandre Ayton will in fact, be the No.1 pick, although the Suns had also been rumoured to have Doncic in their plans for first pick. The Kings are likely to be edging towards Marvin Bagley and Sacramento are apparently highly interested in Michael Porter Jr. A number of mock drafts have Bagley down as No. 3 to the Hawks. Trae Young is another player that has seen a surge in interest leading up to the draft.
As the day gets nearer, there still seems to be a lot of movement in terms of rumoured destinations for the top players. Jaren Jackson Jr, Mohamed Bamba and Mikal Bridges are all featuring as rumoured high picks and it will be very interesting to see where each player lands and how the first few picks affect the rest.

Suns win the lottery for first time
The Suns will be picking first for the first ever time and this season there is no stand-out No.1 pick, like there has been in many of the drafts before. So this makes it even more intriguing to find out who each team will select. Ayton is most peopleโs No.1 pick but there are plenty of other players that could bring different skills to their team.
Michael Porter Jr. is deemed to be a risky selection, given that he has been hampered with an injury that does not appear to be completely recovered from. Luka Doncic is one of the best passers in the draft and that may well ensure he goes to the Hawks at the No.3 spot. It will certainly be one of the more exciting drafts we have seen in a while.
