The Dallas Mavericks are resting their star player Luka Doncic before the start of the NBA season. The Slovenian is suffering from a calf strain
Exceptional player Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has to take a break shortly before the start of the season in the NBA because of a calf strain. The Slovenian national basketball player suffered the injury in practice last week, Doncic will miss the last preseason game against the Detroit Pistons, but coach Jason Kidd hopes that his leading player will be back on the court for the season opener against the San Antonio Spurs (25 October).
The injury had already plagued Doncic (24) on the trip to his old sporting home Madrid. He only played five minutes for his former club Real, and after returning from Spain, Doncic had to sit out team training. Kyrie Irving, the Mavs’ second All-Star, is back in the squad. Irving had missed the last test matches due to groin pain.
