The top match between Paderborn and Bremen had countless highlights to offer – and a bitter end for the East Westphalians.
“We saw today that we can keep up with the big teams. But unfortunately we lack that little bit of luck at home,” explained Lukas Kwasniok after the memorable 3:4 against Werder Bremen, surely also having the home games against Schalke (0:1) and HSV (1:2) in mind.
Muslija convinces again
“The final result is really annoying. The day is not so nice despite my goals,” said Florent Muslija. The winter newcomer from Hannover was again convincing in his second game for the SCP. The 23-year-old developed good ideas on the ten, converted his penalty with the utmost confidence and scored an eye-catching goal to make it 2-1 at the break.
The defeat was the result of individual mistakes. When Ömer Toprak scored the winning goal for Bremen, the goalkeeper Jannik Huth, who has always been reliable so far this season, flew under a corner kick by Marvin Ducksch. Niclas Füllkrug’s 3:3 was preceded by a bad pass from Muslija, probably due to the poor turf.
Now it’s off to the Millerntor
SCP head coach Kwasniok had not changed his starting eleven for the first time this season and fielded the players who had also started in the 2-1 win in Nuremberg. After the match-free weekend, the East Westphalians are guests at FC St. Pauli. Enough time for the coach to decide on his starting line-up for the Millerntor. There is not much to say against it being the eleven players from the Werder game.
