Muscle fibre tear: Magdeburg must do without Bittroff

1. FC Magdeburg must do without Alexander Bittroff in the coming weeks. The central defender tore a muscle fibre in his calf in the match against Viktoria Köln.

The league leaders announced the diagnosis this Tuesday. Bittroff, who was in the starting eleven in all 14 games this season and has the best kicker grade average of any defender in the 3. Liga (2.79), had to leave the field after just 34 minutes in the 0:1 defeat in Cologne

Coach Christian Titz is thus faced with the difficult task of having to replace the entire central defence. Captain Tobias Müller will also have to sit out two games after receiving a red card. Korbinian Burger and Tobias Knost probably have the best chance of filling the two vacant positions in the centre of defence. Both already came into the game on Friday evening after the two absences.
