Sydney – Tennis veteran Andy Murray continues to wait for his first title win in more than two years
The 34-year-old Scot lost 3-6, 3-6 to Russia’s Aslan Karachev in the final of the ATP Sydney tournament just before the start of the Australian Open. Murray celebrated his last title so far out of a total of 46 in Antwerp in October 2019. The former world number one has won three Grand Slam tournaments in his career.
After numerous injuries, he is now ranked 135th in the world. At the Australian Open, which begins on Monday in Melbourne, Murray is competing with a wild card. In the first round, he will face Georgian No. 21 seed Nikolos Bassilashvili.
