Indian Wells – British professional tennis player Andy Murray has made a remarkable gesture in support of the children suffering most in Ukraine as a result of the war.
The former world number one plans to donate all the prize money he wins on the 2022 ATP Tour to Unicef by the end of the year. The 34-year-old made the announcement on social media.
The money will be used to finance medicines and learning materials for children. It is crucial that children have access to education even in times of war, wrote Unicef ambassador Murray. “Children in Ukraine need peace – now,” Murray ended his post. This week, the Briton is competing in the tournament in Indian Wells.
