“Multi-year” contract: Pedro Acosta with the KTM team from the 2025 MotoGP season

KTM announces contract extension with MotoGP rookie Pedro Acosta – From the 2025 season, the Spaniard will ride for the KTM team and be teammates with Brad Binder

After Pedro Acosta’s strong MotoGP debut, it has already become clear in recent weeks that the Spaniard will be transferred from the Tech3 satellite team to the KTM factory team in the 2025 season. On Saturday at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello, the Austrian brand officially announced a new “multi-year” contract with Acosta.

From 2025, Acosta will be the teammate of Brad Binder in the KTM team, whose contract was already extended last summer until the end of 2026. “It was important for me,” says Acosta, “to continue with KTM.”

The Spaniard has a lot to thank KTM for in his career. Acosta won the Red Bull-sponsored Rookies Cup in 2020. In 2021, he became Moto3 World Champion as a rookie with the Ajo-KTM team. His path led him to the Moto2 class with the Ajo team in 2022.

Acosta won the Moto2 World Championship title in 2023 and was promoted to MotoGP in 2024 with Tech3 in GasGas colors. In his first six race weekends, he has already claimed two podiums and a podium in the sprint.

“So it’s nice to keep going for the future,” emphasizes Acosta. “Riding in Orange is like coming home. The way they’ve pushed and improved over the past few years is also the reason I want to stay for the next few years.”

With Binder and Acosta, KTM will have two teammates in the future who have grown up in their own junior program. “It is a great pleasure for us to announce this news,” says KTM Head of Motorsport Pit Beirer.

“From the first days in the Rookies Cup, we could see that he is a special rider. Someone who approaches things differently. And with the strongest mentality to go his own way. That makes him unique in this MotoGP world.”

“It gives us a lot of energy and strength to make this journey together with him in our teams and on our bikes. It’s super cool that we will be together for a few more years. He has a very bright future and we are looking forward to the next chapter of his career with us.”

As Binder and Acosta will form the KTM factory team from next season, it is clear that Jack Miller will have to say goodbye. The Australian said in Mugello that he would be open to making the move to the Tech3 satellite team. Whether this will happen remains to be seen. Just like the future of Augusto Fernandez
