MRI results are in: first all-clear for Curry

Relief for the Golden State Warriors: Superstar Stephen Curry suffered a painful pelvic contusion in the game against the Toronto Raptors, but an MRI examination confirmed that there is no structural damage. The team announced this on Friday.

Despite the positive diagnosis, Stephen Curry will have to take a break for the time being. The 37-year-old will not travel with the team for the start of their six-game road trip. This means he will be absent at least for the game against the Atlanta Hawks. A further examination on Monday should provide information about his further healing process.

Frightening moment against Toronto

The injury occurred in the third quarter of the game against Toronto: Curry moved towards the basket, collided with an opponent and landed unluckily on the floor. He immediately grabbed his pelvis in pain and had to go to the locker room a little later.

After the game, coach Steve Kerr was cautiously optimistic: “He thought he might be able to come back, but we didn’t want to take any risks.” Draymond Green also described the scene as frightening: “He hit the ground really hard. You could hear it.”

Curry was on the court for 25 minutes before his exit and scored 17 points. The Warriors now hope that their leader will be back on his feet soon.
