Special colors at the home Grand Prix in Mugello: The Ducati factory team swaps the classic red for the color of the national team

Ducati has announced that it will compete in a special livery at this year’s Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. On Friday and Saturday, the factory Ducatis of world champion Francesco Bagnaia and team-mate Enea Bastianini will still be wearing their usual colors. But from the warm-up on Sunday morning, the special livery will be used

In the MotoGP main race on Sunday, the Ducati factory team will compete in Azzurro (light blue), the color of the Italian national teams in sport. The team members of the manufacturer from Bologna will also wear this color.

The light blue color will form the basis of the special livery. Accents in white and gold complete the design at the home Grand Prix in Tuscany.

“The Nazionali Azzurre make millions of Italians rave, and we feel that we are doing the same on race weekends by representing our country on the world’s racetracks,” comments Ducati Sporting Director Mauro Grassilli.

“On the occasion of our home Grand Prix in Mugello, we have therefore decided to create a link between the red passion that characterizes us on the racetrack and the Azzurro color that unites us in our love for the sport,” explains the Italian, who succeeds Paolo Ciabatti this year. With the special livery, Ducati is also giving a foretaste of the upcoming European Football Championship.

In the past, no other circuit has seen as many special liveries as Mugello. In addition to the manufacturers’ special liveries, the riders’ special helmet designs have also repeatedly attracted attention. Valentino Rossi’s Mugello helmets are legendary.
