In the Moto3 season 2024 a lot changes with Reiden and a new bike – Therefore PrüstelGP relies on riders with experience with Xavier Artigas and Riccardo Rossi
The German PrüstelGP team has announced the riders for the 2024 Moto3 season. Joel Kelso will no longer be part of the line-up. His place will be taken by Italian Riccardo Rossi. Xavier Artigas will remain on board for a third season together.
Artigas was third on the podium in Austin this year. “We continue to hold on to Xavier. We strongly believe in him and his potential,” says team manager Florian Prüstel. “He has already scored a win and other podium finishes.”
“Therefore, we know that he has what it takes to race at the top. By extending our cooperation, we want to give him the confidence and mental strength to fully concentrate on the current season.”
“Xavi is a very talented and ambitious rider who has a clear goal in mind, just like us. Together we will work hard to give the best performance on the track.” However, things have been difficult recently. At Le Mans, Artigas finished in the top 10 for the last time so far.
With Rossi, a rider with experience joins PrüstelGP. The Italian has been racing in the Moto3 class since 2019 and has already ridden for the teams Gresini, BOE and currently still for SIC58, the racing team of Paolo Simoncelli.
Rossi has been on the podium twice in his career so far. “We have had our eye on Riccardo for some time and have now signed him up,” says Florian Prüstel. “We are very much looking forward to working together, because Riccardo has also been able to set his highlights in the rider field in the past.”
The German racing team is banking on experience for 2024. For Rossi it will be the sixth Moto3 season and for Artigas the fourth. PrüstelGP will also use KTM bikes under the CFMoto brand name next year.
A new bike is being developed in Austria for next year. The change from Dunlop to Pirelli as tyre supplier will also play a big role. Experience can pay off.
“We were already able to test the new Pirelli tyres, but the bike itself will also undergo some technical changes,” Florian Prüstel looks ahead. “The race calendar is becoming even more international. That’s why we decided very early on that we wanted to rely on the experience and riding safety of experienced riders. “
