Moto3 2024: Overview of riders, teams and rider changes

Overview for the 2024 Moto3 season with the confirmed riders and teams, rider changes within the class and rookies

Lots of newcomers, but only a few riders changing teams within the class: this is the rider line-up for the 2024 Moto3 World Championship season. Just like the higher world championship classes Moto2 and MotoGP, the season starts on March 10 and comprises 22 stages

The Prüstel team from Germany will cease racing. This means that there will only be 13 instead of 14 teams in the 2024 Moto3 World Championship season. Only a few riders will change teams for 2024. They are Ryusei Yamanaka (from Aspar to MSI), Ivan Ortola (from MTA to MSI), Tatsuki Suzuki (from Leopard to Intact), Filippo Farioli (from Tech3 to SIC58), Riccardo Rossi (from SIC58 to Prüstel) and Joel Kelso (from Prüstel to BOE).

The 26-strong grid for the 2024 Moto3 season includes no fewer than nine rookies. They are Xabi Zurutuza from Spain (with Ajo), Angel Piqueras from Spain (with Leopard), Nicola Carraro from Italy (with MTA), Joel Esteban from Spain (with Aspar), Jacob Roulstone from Australia (with Tech3), Luca Lunetta from Italy (with SIC58), David Almansa from Spain (with Snipers), Tatchakorn Buasri from Thailand (with Asia) and Noah Dettwiler from Switzerland (with CIP).

Some of them, including Dettwiler, have already made a few Moto3 starts in the past, but not yet a full season. Others, such as the current Rookies Cup champion Angel Piqueras, are complete newcomers to the World Championship.

In terms of the allocation of the brands to the teams, nothing will change in the ranks of the existing teams. Eight teams with KTM chassis and five teams with Honda chassis will compete in the 2024 Moto3 World Championship. The Honda teams include MLav. This is the former VisionTrack team with a new name.

Due to the loss of the Prüstel team, the CFMoto brand name has also been dropped. Without CFMoto, there are now only three different names in the ranks of the KTM teams, which are affixed to the motorcycle for marketing reasons. In addition to KTM, the brands GasGas and Husqvarna, which also belong to the Pierer Mobility Group, are each represented by a team (Aspar and Intact respectively)
