When you are a big name star like Cristiano Ronaldo, you need a good security team around you. From helping to prevent hoards of fans trying to get to speak to their idols, to being vigilante at a time when there is a high risk of terrorism, security teams will be working around the clock at the upcoming World Cup 2018 in Russia.
An all-star security team
Whilst many national teams will employ security for their team through the usual procedure of going through standard security agencies, Cristiano’s Ronaldo’s people have decided to turn to MMA powerhouse Goncalo Salgado. With an impressive fight history, consisting of 7 wins and 2 losses as a pro MMA fighter, the super heavyweight should be able to tackle any problems that come his way. At 6’2” and a weight of 308lbs, he is a colossus barrier in the way of any threats to Ronaldo’s safety.

Ronaldo is well-known for his impressive physique and is often seen celebrating goals by removing his shirt and performing a Hulk impersonation. Whilst football fans across the world look on in envy and admiration, Ronaldo’s physique could be described as lean compared to the pounds of muscle that the burly Salgado boasts.
The MMA fighter is going to be joined by ex-paratrooper Nuno Marecos as security is being stepped up following ISIS threats aimed at the Real Madrid and Portugal star. Marecos is famed for his exploits as a bullfighter and is able to overcome half-tonne bulls using merely his bare hands. So it looks like Ronaldo will be in safe hands over the next few months with these guys on standby to take action should any security threats arise.
Football firepower
When it first emerged that ISIS had released direct threats to both Ronaldo and Messi, it was decided that security would need beefing up in the lead up to the World Cup. With both stars hoping to be able to concentrate on scoring goals that will fire their respective countries to the final, having top level security working for them should help put their minds at ease.
