Lionel Messi will be available for Argentina’s national team in the World Cup qualifying clash against Brazil.
A knee injury had forced the Argentina star striker to take a step back recently, but the 34-year-old will now be fully available again on Wednesday against Brazil. “Messi will play tomorrow. We hope he is fine,” national coach Lionel Scaloni said at a press conference on Monday.
Messi was substituted in the qualifier against Uruguay (1-0) last Saturday and was only on the pitch for 15 minutes. Messi’s injury has caused him to miss two games for Paris Saint-Germain, including a 2-2 draw away to RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
The Argentinian national team will face Brazil, the first team in South America to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, in San Juan on Wednesday. With a win, Argentina could also make qualification perfect.
