Mega fight awaits! “I’m the king”

Jake Paul wins the one-sided boxing match against UFC fighter Mike Perry early. A legend now awaits the social media star – which some well-known faces in the scene loudly criticize

The “problem child” has struck again – and how! Jake Paul knocked out UFC and Bareknuckle star Mike Perry in the sixth round on Sunday night! “W” posted Paul under an Instagram post showing the decisive punch for the victory in the video. It was the tenth triumph. In his tenth professional fight.

The 27-year-old himself felt called to greater things afterwards. Immediately after his fight, Paul challenged the next UFC heavyweight: “Alex Pereira, you said you wanted to box! I’m the king, I’m the king! Come here!”

Mike Tyson waiting for Paul

But it’s not just Pereira who is waiting – boxing legend Mike Tyson (58) is too. Originally, Paul was supposed to fight the former champion, who is more than three decades older, back in the summer. However, the fight had to be canceled for the time being due to Tyson’s injury – and has now been postponed to November 15.

In any case, Tyson can hardly wait for the fight. In a post on X, the former heavyweight world champion announced: “The countdown begins. 118 days; 16 weeks and six days; 17 weekends; 2,832 hours; 169,920 minutes; 10,195,200 seconds. The clock starts now.”

In the fan scene, everyone is talking about the mega event anyway: the announcement is already ready to be filmed and the fight will be broadcast on the Netflix streaming platform

Paul sends Perry to the ring floor three times

Before that, however, Paul had to prove himself against “build-up opponent” Perry, who had been classified by some experts as a realistic hurdle. In the Amelie Arena in Tampa (Florida), however, the Bareknuckle champion had little to oppose the social media phenomenon Paul (26 million followers on Instagram).

In the first round, Paul sent his opponent to the floor with a hard right hand, and the same spectacle was repeated in round two. Perry seemed to walk around the ring with soft knees throughout. He was to survive five rounds before the referee and ring doctor had to intervene for the first time to seriously check whether the fight should continue.

In round six, the certainty came: after a third knockdown as a result of a punch combination from Paul, Perry got up again, but staggered around the ring with barely any sense – it was the premature end.

Criticism of fight against boxing legend: “I swear to God… “

Too late though, if Paul had his way. The boyfriend of speed skating star Jutta Leerdam almost apologized to his fans afterwards, but still had words of praise for his opponent: “He’s tough as nails, I’m sorry it took so long! He’s a tough man, respect to Mike Perry. He’s the king of violence and BKFC champion.”

Perry also had to give Paul credit: “I tried to play along and fight you back. You were way too fast for me and I couldn’t catch you. The kid hit me hard.” In any case, the duel caused quite a bit of controversy in the fight scene in the run-up to the fight – it wasn’t just the significant difference in fighting weight that seemed to interest the public.

MMA superstar Connor McGregor later wrote on X: “40 pound weight difference, completely stoned and he’s still shitting his pants. Nakisa, you should take him to Vegas where the athletic commission tests. Real tests, real fights. You could never do that. And then he challenges 60-year-old Mike Tyson, who just had a medical emergency? I swear to God… “

UFC superstar McGregor insults Jake Paul

Harsh words from the Irish champion, who embellished the post even more vulgarly. Referring to the “Most Valuable Promotions” agency run by Paul and Bidarian, MVP for short, McGregor wrote: “Most valuable pissbag.”

The already retired UFC fighter Dillon Danis also seemed less than pleased and called Paul out of retirement in a comment on X: “If Jake Paul can knock me out, anyone who likes this comment gets 50,000 dollars. I’ll put it in my contract.”

In any case, the Paul fights keep the boxing world on tenterhooks – even if their sporting significance is doubtful.
